Terms
For this site, and for the messages we send
Last updated 28 September 2026
What this page is
These are the terms for allyandmarius.com and for the text messages we send from it. The site belongs to Ally Johnson and Marius de Vogel, who are getting married on 18 September 2027 at Parc Broekhuizen in Leersum, the Netherlands. It exists to invite about a hundred people to that wedding and to collect their answers.
By using the site or replying to our messages you are agreeing to what follows. It is short, because there is not much to it.
The messages we send
Two kinds, both from Ally and Marius, both about this one wedding. We send no advertising of any sort, and we never send anything on behalf of anyone else.
- Your verification code
- A six-digit code, sent when you ask the site to find your invitation. It proves the number is yours before your reply opens. One message per request; it expires in ten minutes.
- News about the day
- Occasional messages as the wedding comes closer: the times are settled, the travel notes have changed, the reply is due. A handful over the whole engagement.
- How often
- Message frequency varies. You control the codes, since one arrives only when you ask for it. News messages are rare, and we expect fewer than ten in total before the wedding.
The details of that
- How do I stop the messages?
- Reply STOP to any message we send. We will send one confirmation that you are unsubscribed, and then nothing further. You may also reply END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE or QUIT.
- Can I start again?
- Reply START and we will begin sending again. Or just ask us.
- What does HELP do?
- Reply HELP to any message and you will get a reply naming us and giving the address below, so you always know who is texting you and how to reach a person.
- If I stop the messages, can I still reply to the invitation?
- Yes. Stopping the texts does not cancel your invitation or your answer. Write to us and we will send your code another way, or record your answer by hand.
- What will it cost me?
- Nothing from us. Your own mobile plan may charge you for receiving a message, and that is between you and your carrier. Message and data rates may apply.
- Which carriers does this work on?
- All the usual ones. Delivery is not something we control: carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and neither are we.
How your number came to be on our list
Because we asked you for it, or because someone close to you gave it to us so that we could invite you. We wrote the guest list by hand, one household at a time. Nobody was bought, scraped, or added from a list, and there is no way for a stranger to add a number to it.
By giving us your number, or by using it to look up your invitation, you agree to receive the messages described above. That agreement is yours alone; we will never pass it to anyone else, and no one else may send you messages on the strength of it.
If we have your number and you would rather we did not, say so and it is gone.
Your invitation is yours
The reply page asks for the number the invitation was sent to and texts a code to it, so that only the household invited can open it. There is at most one invitation per number.
Please do not pass your personal link or your code to anyone else, and do not try to open an invitation that is not yours. Please answer only for the people named on your own invitation. We check the replies by hand, and we would rather not have to.
Using the site
You may read it, reply to your invitation, and share the address with anyone you like. Please do not try to break into it, take the guest list out of it, hammer it with automated requests, or copy our photographs for anything other than remembering the day.
The photographs and the writing are ours, or are used with permission. A few drawings and models in Our Story are by other people and are credited there under the licences they carry.
What we can and cannot promise
We will keep the site up and the details accurate as best we can, but it is a wedding website run by two people with jobs. Times, travel notes and arrangements may change, and where something is not yet settled the page says so.
The site is offered as it is. We are not liable for a message that arrives late, a page that is down for an evening, or a detail that changed after you read it. Nothing here is a contract for anything other than a very good party, and nothing here limits any right you have as a consumer under the law where you live.
Where something matters — a flight, a hotel, a taxi at a particular hour — please confirm it with us directly rather than relying on a page.
The rest of it
Two more things worth having to hand.
- How we handle your detailsWhat we hold, who else can see it, and how to have it deleted. Your mobile number is never shared for marketing.
- [email protected]The address for help, for corrections, and for anything on this page. One of us answers.
Changes, and the law
If we change these terms we will change the date at the top of this page. Carrying on using the site after that means the new version is the one you are agreeing to.
These terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, where we live and where the wedding is. That does not take away any protection the law of your own country gives you.
